1. Introduction

Faceit Finder ("Application") is a web service that enables searching for player profiles on Faceit and Steam platforms. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data.

2. Data Collected

2.1 Data from Steam Web API

The Application uses Steam Web API to convert custom Steam ID to Steam ID64. We collect data only upon your request, when you enter a Steam Community profile link.

Data collected from Steam:

• Steam ID64 (Steam account identifier)
• Custom Steam ID (if used)

2.2 Data from FaceIT API

The Application uses FaceIT API to retrieve player profile data.

Data collected from FaceIT:

• Player nickname
• Player avatar
• Game statistics (ELO, skill level, matches, etc.)
• Ranking (world and country)
• Match history

2.3 Technical data

The Application may collect technical data such as:

• IP address (used for logging and security)
• Browser type and operating system
• Date and time of visit

Discord, Faceit and linked accounts

If you connect your Discord or Faceit account in Settings:

• We store your Discord user ID and link it to your Steam ID so we can send you ban alerts and assign roles (e.g. Faceit level) on our Discord server.
• We store your Faceit player ID, nickname and current level (from Faceit API) to sync your Faceit level role on Discord and for future features.
• You can unlink Discord in Settings. Unlinking stops notifications and role sync; we will remove the link from our data.

3. Data Storage

3.1 User data

When you use account-related features, we store the following data on our servers:

Stored data includes:

• Your Steam ID64 (when logged in via Steam)
• Watchlist: which profiles you observe (for VAC/ban alerts)
• Discord link: your Discord user ID linked to your Steam ID (if you connect Discord)
• Faceit link: your Faceit player ID, nickname and level (if you connect Faceit)
• Notification preferences: which types of notifications you want (bans, unbans, followers, etc.)
• In-app notifications: list of recent notifications (e.g. new follower, ban alert)
• Email address (optional, if you provide it in settings for future email notifications)

Searches by unauthenticated users are not stored. Aggregated search statistics (e.g. total count per day) may be stored without any personal identifiers.

3.2 Storage location

The Application operates on servers located in Poland/European Union. All data is processed in accordance with GDPR regulations.

3.3 Retention period

We retain the data listed in section 3.1 for as long as your account is used or until you request erasure. You can stop observing profiles and unlink Discord in Settings. To request full erasure of your data, contact us at the email address below.

4. Data Usage

Data from Steam Web API and FaceIT API is used solely for:

• Converting Steam ID (custom ID → Steam ID64)
• Displaying player profile on FaceIT
• Displaying statistics and match history

We do not use data for:

• Direct marketing
• Sharing data with third parties
• Creating user profiles
• Behavioral analysis for commercial purposes

5. User Rights

In accordance with GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access to data - you can inquire about the data we process
• Data rectification - you can report incorrect data
• Data erasure - you can request deletion of stored data (watchlist, Discord link, notification prefs, etc.)
• Data portability - you can request data export
• Objection - you can object to data processing

6. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data, including:

• Connection encryption (HTTPS)
• Secure storage of API keys
• Limiting data access only to necessary purposes

7. Steam Web API - Disclaimers

The Application uses Steam Web API provided by Valve Corporation. Data from Steam Web API is provided "AS IS", "WITH ALL FAULTS" and "AS AVAILABLE".

Valve, Steam Game Publishers and Developers and their suppliers do not provide any warranties or conditions, express, statutory or implied, including without limitation:

• Warranties or conditions regarding merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title, quiet enjoyment, absence of encumbrances and absence of infringement
• Warranties or conditions arising from course of dealing or trade usage
• Warranties or conditions regarding uninterrupted or error-free access or use

In no event shall Valve or any supplier be liable for any damages, including without limitation, indirect, consequential, special, incidental or punitive damages arising from the use of Steam Web API or Steam data.

8. Cookies

The Application uses cookies for the following purposes:

• Essential: language preference
• Essential: theme choice (dark/light)
• Essential: session (e.g. Steam login state)
• Analytics: with your consent we may use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (e.g. page views, approximate traffic). You can choose "Analytics only" or "Necessary only" in the cookie banner.
• Advertising: with your consent we may use third-party advertising (e.g. Ezoic) to display ads. You can accept or decline in the cookie banner.

We do not use cookies to track you across other websites. You can change your choice at any time (clear cookies or use the cookie banner if shown again).

9. Third-party services

The Application uses the following third-party services that may process data:

• Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager: to analyse site usage (only if you give consent via the cookie banner).
• Ezoic: for advertising and consent management (only if you accept advertising cookies).
• Steam and Faceit APIs: to fetch player data when you search or view a profile; we do not control their privacy practices – see Steam and Faceit privacy policies.
• Discord: when you link your Discord account we use Discord OAuth; we store only your Discord user ID linked to your Steam ID for sending you notifications on our Discord server.

Children

The Application is not directed at users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy. Any changes will be published on this page with the date of last update.
